Walt Disney World Resorts: Which One Should You Choose?

The first decision to make once you decide to go to Walt Disney World is “Where should we stay?”  Each Disney Resort is heavily themed.  They all have a story behind them and the level of detail that the Imagineers go to tell that story is unparalleled.  

There are many resort options in a wide range of prices.  Here is a list of all the Disney-owned choices.  I have included some basic details for comparison.  For additional information and photos, check-out the Walt Disney World website.

 For the best prices, ALWAYS look under the “Special Offers” link on the WDW website or ask for available special offers from your travel agent. Price ranges vary greatly based on time of travel and room category.

Regardless of which room category that you choose, all Disney guests receive the same basic perks including:
*Complimentary Magical Express airport transportation and bag pick-up
*Complimentary Disney transportation on-property including all boats, trams, monorails, and busses (no rental car needed)
*Complimentary parking at all parks with your own vehicle ($15 per day value)
*Extra Magic Hours at the parks (morning or evening park hours open only for WDW resort guests)
*Fastpass plus advance attraction scheduling (this may extend to off-property guests soon)
*Pool games, resort activities, nightly movies under the stars
*Complimentary package delivery to your Disney resort room
*Complimentary resort wheelchairs (first come first serve basis)
*Entrance into the parks on high capacity days (Once full capacity is reached, even resort guests are turned away.)  

VALUE RESORTS: Approximately $100 per night
Whimsical designs. Rooms include 2 double beds or one king. Exterior room entrances. Large pools. Food courts and pool bars. Bus transportation only.

Deluxe Resorts: Approximately $300 per night
Two queen beds, daybeds and bunk beds available in some resorts. Interior room entrances and elaborate lobbies.  Most rooms have balconies.  Elaborate pools including slides and hot tubs. Gyms. Table-service restaurants including fine dining and lounges. Some have limited counter-service options. Bus, boat, and monorail transportation. Spa services and private-level concierge-service rooms are available at select resorts.

Similar amenities as deluxe category resorts.  Accommodations range from deluxe studios with one queen bed and a wet bar to multi-bedroom villas with full kitchens.
